About CTET: Origin, What And Why

CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) is an exam conducted to maintain the standards, quality and uniformity of the teachers in the teachers recruitment process.

Origin: A Gazette of India which came into effect on August 2, 2011 by the clause (n) of RTE Act. issued by Government of India along with NCTE ( National Council of Teacher Education) and MHRD (Ministry of Human Resource Development) made it mandatory to pass Teacher Eligibility Test (TET). The guidelines were framed by NCTE for the conduction of CTET exams.

What & Why : In simple words it can be said that for teachers recruitment passing TET is necessary now. TETs are of two kinds, one which is done by Central Government (CTET) and one by State Government (like UPTET, RTET etc.). Now it is mandatory, even in private schools that for a person to become a teacher, he/she must have passed CTET.

It was done to improve the quality of school education as well as teacher education system of India.

Difficulty level of CTET exam: The difficulty level of CTET exam is of medium hard to average kind and you can crack this exam easily if you get the right kind of support to your preparations.

Scope of CTET

CTET has become a trademark of being a good teacher and it accelerates the chances of your selection in recruitment processes. Not only government schools even private schools now demand those teachers who have cleared CTET. For government teachers exams like DSSSB, KVS, NVS PRT and TGT exams, CTET has become an essential eligibility criteria to recruit teachers.
